The Requirements
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have solid relevant experience, for example in career services or human resources, and a background in outside business development and/or business management. You should be a sales-driven professional with practiced leadership skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to bring an innovative approach to connecting qualified candidates with desirable employers.

Substantial background in a parallel or similar role, and an understanding of the education and career placement industries. Direct industry experience is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word and Excel. Experience with CampusVue software is a plus.

You'll work out of your office on campus the majority of the time, but you will also need to be willing and able to accompany your account reps on local sales calls from time to time.
The Role
As a Director of Career Services, your central mission will be to connect our graduates with employers who appropriately match their educational goals. Ultimately, your task is to help our students conclude their educational journey and begin down the path to career success. To assist in this effort, you'll manage a career services team of four to six professionals also working on the students' behalf. You'll be a hands-on Director for our students as well as a mentor and trainer to develop your team so that they, too, can grow in their professional endeavors. We are looking for someone to implement the strategy that's been built up by the Regional Director of Career Services. In addition to your work with the careers services team, you'll also be responsible for managing two to three account reps, who are responsible for building relationships with the local business. The career services team then works on placing students within open positions at these local businesses. Other essential duties will include:

Managing department operations including employee performance reviews and other supervisory functions.

Achieving established placement goals as a team and individually.

Organizing and maintaining documentation files on all graduates and tracking placement rates for each program.

Distributing, collecting and summarizing graduate and employer satisfaction surveys.

Maintaining an active lead generation system to ensure sufficient job opportunities are available to students and graduates.

Serving on all Advisory Boards of the college and making recommendations to the Academic and Executive Committee regarding curricula and job skills needed in the workplace.

Maintaining active and positive relationships with employers, sponsoring virtual on-campus recruiting and participating in virtual Career Fair(s).

Developing, coordinating and assisting with externship and work related opportunities for students.

Coordinating graduation ceremonies.
